People say sleeping after sahur is not good, so here I am catching up on my readings and anything else, as per morning during other months. Actually, I had more than enough nap yesterday afternoon so there's no need for a little close-eye this morning.
It's early Ramadan, but I can say it's been okay so far - except on the first day of this auspicious month, the whole nation was mourning for the demise of 12 lives in the force. It felt like December all over again. The incident with the bus mishap en route to Brunei from KK. The whole of Brunei was sympathetic. Even the weather agreed. Yep, it felt the same this time around.
Alas, it is the auspicious month of Ramadan. The opportunity to increase taqwa. Insya Allah. (I am loss at words all of a sudden. Change of mood expected in next paragraph.)
Anyway, I've never really realised I have many alarms in the morning. Usually I dismiss them until I read 'Final Call!' on my phone. I'll dismiss that too, and try to sit up after that. During this month, I'm already awake way before all of them go off. So I get to hear all kinds of music and sounds I've assigned to each and every alarm. How come I was never annoyed?
Like every determination I have come Ramadan, this year is no exception (did I write that right? Hmmm). I read the whole Quran a while before, but that was in the course of almost a year. I hope I can finish reading it again from Juzu 1 this Ramadan. Aside from that though, I have two separate khatams for Quran reciting as well. One for my family (that includes cousins, uncles & aunts), and another one for my siblings. I'll finish these two first, then I'll get on with my own khatam. Insya Allah.
To date :
1. My own khatam - 2 first juzu'.
2. My family's khatam - none yet (but I only have to cover 2 juzu').
3. My siblings' khatam - 3 out of 7 juzu'.
Rabbuna yusahhil. And yep, reciting the Quran gives you peace and serenity. Trust my word.
Alhamdulillah. =)
